What do you think of 4th Ed? Is it an improvement, or a step backwards?

In my opinion a step backwards. Sure bits have been tweaked but other things have been broken. This is only my opinion as i know people that play 4th ed and enjoy it. Oh well each to his own but for me...no thanks.

Guard got screwed over severely, Eldar rapid-assault ability was crippled, and the Marines got a slight disadvantage... 4th Edition is lousy.

I'm sticking with 3rd Ed for now. When I win the lottery I'll judge 4th Ed for myself. Then I'll return to 3rd Ed.

+++I think I like 4th edition better... I think. Well I liked the rulebook, although that wasn't mainly because of the rules, just 'cos of all the cool stuff like kill team+++ +++The death of the rhino rush is definitely a good thing though +++ +++There are some rules that really got screwed with the coming of the new edition though; especially the fact that shield drones have pretty much been made useless. And the fact that the save of bikes becomes invilnerable when they turbo boost is really stupid. Not only does it make them near invincible to most ranged weapons, but it also makes them extra vulnerable to psycannons. How logical+++

How logical+++ I think GW decided not to consider the implications of the rules changes, and then try to fix any mistakes with the new Codex's...unfortunately this will (at the very least) result in a lot of Codex-Rulebook contradictions, and at the worst the game will become un-playable. Obviosly they'll try to explain these problems away, but I think 4th Ed is a bit too full of holes.
