Eldar Nebula Class Cruiser ....................................................320pts TYPE/HITS | SPEED | TURNS | SHIELDS | ARMOUR | TURRETS | Cruiser/6 | 10/20/25 | Special | Holofields | 4+ | 0 |
ARMAMENT | RANGE/SPEED | FPR/STR | FIRE ARC | Prow Pulsar Lances | 30cm | 3 | Front | Keel Torpedoes | 30cm | 2 | Front |
The Nebula class cruiser is a rare ship type used by the Eldar to spearhead large scale assaults, specifically Imperial Stations. It uses it's dual torpedoes to bypass the enemies shield before scything through thier armoured hulls with it's Pulsar Lance battery. This tactic was employed particularly effectively against numerous Imperial Cruisers who relied too heavily on their reinforced prows and numerous shields. Once crippled, these ships were left behind for the smaller escorts (such as the Rapier class) to dispatch whilst the Nebula class seeked out it's next target.

Ho... ly... nuts... please tell me there's a mistype in there somewhere! Six pulsar lances!? Geez!
The points are also way too low... something this nasty is easily going to be 300+.

Edited. Sorry, I had copied and pasted from the other ship I made and forgot to change the points cost. I have also reduced the Torpedoes to 2. Any better?

You are aware that this beast of a ship could conceivably cause 18?! damage in one shooting phase. Tell me, is there anything in existence (aside from a Ramillies) that could withstand that?
The Average damage will be 7-9 without lock-on, and 13-15 with lock-on. This ship could easily make its points back in one volley, and could easily cripple any heavy ship in one go. *tries get train of thought back*
You know, you only really need 4 Pulsar lances, as that still gives you an average of 3-5 damage (and a max. of 12), enough to cripple a cruiser, or a battleship if you get lucky.

Considering that a Eldar battleship has 4 lances to front(thouh they are range 45cm), Dragonships which seem to be equivalent of heavy cruisers can have 3, and Wraithships can have 2 I'd say that even 4 would be pushing the limit.
I'd suggest going with 2, max three if the rest of the weaponry is less efficient (concentrating more on lances would mean cuts in rest of the armament).

I think cutting it to 2 is a little much, considering it's meant to go toe-to-toe with things like the Gothic and Lunar classes, how about 3?
