Lord Callum suggested seeing if anyone over at Port Maw would be interested in joining our forum to gain some new members. Now, I don't think we should try to 'steal' their members, it's just not very polite. Also, I don't think that anyone over there is likely to join up here simply because they already have a forum dedicated to BFF where they are established. However BFF's main selling point right now is 1 - It's look. We have a very different 'feel' to Port Maw, and so some people with different taste might simply prefer us for that reason (or Port Maw, whatever the case may be) 2 - The campaign. Now I know we wanted to keep this relatively small, but I'm thinking it could really get this site off the ground, and I think with the core of experienced BFG/VASSAL members we have now we should be able to coordinate things. So what I'm thinking is a mini ad-campaign over on Port Maw where we all put banners in our sigs advertising the Battle for Carelia campaign, to see if we can get some people interested. The more the merrier, as they say! That way, we are not simply trying to 'convert' their members, just inviting them to join in our campaign. Hell, the could even start a thread over there about it if they prefer it over there. Then anyone who likes it here can stay. Thoughts? So, we need some banners. I'm going to have a go at making some today, but any submissions would be very welcome! Cheers, - Yurrath

Some (admittedly not great) banners. Banner one (large): Banner one (small):

I'd suggest we try the campaign first, and once it is over, or atleast well on the way, we can start to look for comparative or larer campaigns.
After all, carelia is only a subsector, and there are quite a few subsectors sectors in a sector. So no need to worry.
Besides, if we have different campaigns for different subsectors, we can have slightly different campaign rules etc. to try new things.

Hmmm, well it's your show so ok, I don't want to give you too much work.

The problem is, the map we currently have does not scale so much.
So, we have to agree on the amount of participants in the campaign, or it will be too crowded (I think we are good as we are now, but I may need to revise that.)
If we start advertizing on other forums now, we et people who want to join our already full campaign. If we start another for them, the ampaign will have all the same problems as this one will that we haven't yet found out (I'm sure we see some problems in the way).
So I'd prefer to run this campaign for a moment, see if something needs to change, if the map needs to be bigger/smaller etc. and after that start another campaign, and that is when we can advertize for new people.
It's not really that much of a work, but I'd like to see the "prototype" tested a bit before the next campagin starts. If the proto has serious flaws, those flaws will be in the other games we start now too. So I'd say let's fix the proto first, and copy itto other campaign afterwards.
