Simple one: what is your favourite type of ship and why?
I've got two: The Mars Class and the Lunar Class.
I like the Mars because it provides serious hitting power (NOVA CANNON!!!), fighter support, lances and batteries... a bit of everything!
For the same reason, I like the Lunar. She provides both Batteries and Lances, and (when working with other ships, or as a Squadron) can pose a major threat to just about anything in the enemy fleet.
So what about you lot?

I'm not overly familiar with all of the Imperial ships, but I suppose I would like the ones with the most fighters/bombers.

That would be the Emperor Class (battleship), Mars Class (Battlecruiser), or Dictator (Cruiser).

Mars class I think is a given. Nova cannons can be deadly specially if you ahve a few ships with them and the Mars has a nice mix that gives you a few options. lunar is a good ship of the line, again with a solid mix of weapons. Last, I have to put the cobra in there. while small and kinda weak but it's cheap and when in decent numbers is capable of doing a large amount of damage.

Personally I like a lot of Lances on my ships. Although I play Eldar, I believe this would be the Lunar Class?? I just like the idea of a unholy amount of firepower but that's me.

If you wanted a lot of lances on your ships and were going for Imperial ships then you'd want the Gothic Class. Four Lances to a side.

I like Escort ships Sword class. I still have 3 of those. Give me your address via PM and you can have them for a small price. I only began to paint one of them a tiny bit (the front of the hull is white with gold trimmings), but other than that they are just undercoated (black spray paint). Interested?

If I had money I'd buy them in an instant Yurrath. Many underestimate the smaller escorts. Mainly why I won the tourney was because everyone kept feilding cruiser fleets or very few of them.

cobras
nothing quite like 2 squads of 6 base-to-base cobras swinging around to do a 24-marker torpedo run into the enemy formation.

Hehe, I knew a guy whowould agree with you. Entire fleet was composed of somewhere in the range of 54 cobras. With thier speed and vast numbers of torpedo salvos it was just scary.
